It may seem like it has all been done before, especially if you’ve had a lot of friends get married over the past few years. You want to make your wedding special and unique—but how? Here are a few tips for custom wedding features.
Seating Charts and Cards
This is one of the places you get to work with a lot of self-expression. Instead of wasting time and money printing all of those little cards, most of which are just going to get tossed out anyway, have a master list. Find a unique way to let guests know where they are seated. It can be something as simple as a chalkboard (use a chalk pen to prevent smudging) or as elaborate as colored coded puzzles pieces that your guests bring to the table and assemble.
Guest Books (without the Book)
Get rid of the guest book and find something unique you will want to display. Are friends coming from across the country? Have everyone sign a large map of the US near the location they came from. Or you can have the signatures go on a fancy bottle of wine. Have the wine as part of your first-anniversary celebration. Then the bottle becomes a keepsake.
Find a unique way to display table numbers that fit in with your theme. Whether the numbers become part of the centerpiece or end up being color coded rather than numbered, there are endless ways to get around a folded piece of paper with a number on it going on each table.
Make Everyone a Photographer
Of course, you will want your professional photographer too, but don’t forget to announce a unique hashtag for the wedding that will allow you to find everyone’s pictures on social media easily. While having a hashtag isn’t unique, the photos taken by your friends certainly will be.
