Your wedding day should be a special day that celebrates the union of you and your partner. As you go about planning your wedding, you’ll come across hundreds of different vendors to choose from – often becoming a time consuming and frustrating endeavor as you try and find the best one that fits your needs, budgets and overall wedding vision. To help take the stress out of finding a vendor, here are some useful tips on how to find the right one for your upcoming wedding:
- Look at reviews
The best way to get a feel for each vendor and the service they provide is to read their reviews. Once you’ve compiled a list of local vendors, make sure that you do a quick Google search to see if you can find any reviews for them. This will help you give you an idea of what they offer and how other people liked them. If you see that their reviews are positive, you’ll know that they’re dependable and can potentially provide you with what you want.
- Always meet face-to-face
Never simply hire a vendor over the phone or online, especially if the vendor is responsible for something important like flowers, food and music. Schedule an appointment with them so that you can gauge their work and talk to them in person about what you want and how they can make it happen. You’ll also be able to read their facial and body cues that will help you gauge their demeanor to see if they’re the right fit for you and your wedding.
- Always have a budget
Don’t go into any vendor meetings without a set budget in place. You don’t want to book a vendor that’s out of your price range, so have that budget on hand and let them know what that is. They might be able to work with your budget to deliver what you want. This will also help when you book your caterer so that you know exactly how many people you’ll need food for!
- Get it in writing
Never leave the meeting with out everything in writing. This will help in case you have a dispute or if you come back to them and they quote you something different.
